Meet Tara, Founder

Hi — I’m Ms Tara and I am a certified Education Specialist with decades of experience and successful results. My mother, aunt, and grandmothers were all teachers who taught me from a young age, and throughout my life.

So you know a bit more about me: I have fostered more than 10 children. I have taught for more than 25 years in schools, as a homeschool mom, and as a formal teacher in public schools and in private schools. I have taught every grade from K-12 and I have tutored students in every grade including students with disabilities such as ASD, ADHD/ADD, Dyslexia, Dyscalculia, every kind of learning disability. I consider every student a gift and find their unique talents. Many gifted students of accomplishment have been my students. I have graduated more than 50 students from high school following homeschool requirements for their state. Expect Success Education was created to provide clear, beautifully human, and effective learning support for students and families—especially those seeking an alternative to rigid or overly complicated educational systems and especially to serve neurodivergent or challenged students. I use these lessons and so I have watched them succeed. I am proud to have seen the bright and brilliant faces of students who can now learn on their own and accomplish new skills.

My work is to develop effective curricula -- including lessons for every skill a student must know. I teach students directly and work closely with families to help learners build confidence, master essential skills, and develop a lasting love of learning. Any parent or family member, friend or relation can follow the simple and wonderful lessons in the Lesson Manuals. These hands-on lessons directions, with your creativity will grow the intellect of every student. Our Teacher Lesson Manuals and Tutoring Services are grounded in international best practices. These are evidence based, which means they draw inspiration from the proven-working aspects of high-performing education systems in Finland, Germany, Singapore, Canada, and evidence based methods in the United States. Teacher-tutors have freedom and creativity with effective support and are not forced to follow any rigid system. I am empowering you with knowledge that has been made to seem complex, by making it easy for you to teach a child.

Lessons are designed to support different ways of thinking, learning and teaching, and to work in real-life settings such as during travel or on a farmstead—not just traditional classrooms.

Curriculum & Lesson Manuals

Expect Success Education provides Mathematics, (including the sciences) and Language Arts (including English writing, Grammar and Communication Skills) lesson manuals. These engaging and uplifting lessons are designed to be done by anyone, anywhere. It can be a parent and child, teacher, tutor and child, sibling, aunt or uncle, cousin, godparent or friend working with the child to complete a lesson. Just open to the first page and get started, scroll through the lessons to determine what the child needs or check the Table of Contents for a specific subject/area of need.

Each Manual shows you exactly what your child needs to know to graduate the grade and guides the lesson on how to teach it. So if they are having trouble with a specific skill, use the manual for a supplementary lesson. Or have a local tutor help you to accomplish a specific lesson. Each lesson stands alone.

Some parents opt for having the local tutor or upcoming teacher work with me as a Master Teacher to guide the lesson planning but still allow the student to form a bond with a local teacher and have an orderly course of tutoring to address specific challenges or general needs. Any parent can easily follow the lessons - no matter what else is going on in life or the schedule — to accomplish the skill required.

No specialized training or complex systems are required.
